Holdem Limit Preflop Fullring Definitions:Holdem = Texas Holdem Poker Limit = In opposite to No-Limit Holdem the bet sizes and number of raises are limited for each round Preflop = The first betting round before the three flop cards are dealt Fullring = a 9 or 10 seat table with at least seven players seated
"Tight is right" is a common saying for Fullring Limit games. Tight and aggressive to be exactly, But how do you know if you play correctly? Well - as mentioned in our poker software section you should use a poker statistics program like Poker Tracker (version 2 or 3). This software provides usefull information about: - Tight/Loose Style
Your VPIP should be between 15% and 21%. Anything above 30% is too loose. Below 12% you are playing too tight. Follow the Starting Hand Chart (SHC) recommended later and you will be fine.
- Preflop Aggression (PFR)
Your total PFR sould be at least 50% of your VPIP, even better a little bit higher. (Example: VPIP = 18% PFR at least 9% - better 10% or 11%) Also divide for each position other than the Small Blind the PFR by the VPIP. (we recommend to use Excel for this). If you get a number smaller than 0.5, you are not aggressive enough out of this position.
- Position Stats
Check VPIP for each position. Look down the list of your VPIP from Button to UTG (under the gun). You should see a steadily dropping VPIP the farther you get from the Button. TheButton VPIP should be at least 50% larger than the UTG VPIP. Example: Button VPIP = 25% and UTG VPIP = 14%
- Blind Stealing
Your 'Attempts to steal Blinds" percentage should be at least 20%.
- Blind Defence
Here you can filter in Poker Tracker when there was an attempt to steal your blinds and you've decided to defend. The BB/Hand result has to be bigger than 0.375 !! Else it would be better, if you would never defend your blinds. Ideally you have here a (small) positve result
